Controversial cleric Pastor John Andreaz has ignited fresh debate with explosive remarks on Nigeria’s persistent insecurity crisis.
In a widely circulated statement, the pastor asserted that the violence ravaging the country is not ordinary crime but a calculated jihadist campaign. “This is a jihad,” he declared bluntly.
According to Andreaz, the structure driving the unrest is far stronger than any single administration. “The structure controlling insecurity in Nigeria is beyond Tinubu, that’s why he can’t do anything about it,” he said. “The structure is too strong. The only thing we need now is international help.”
He traced the agenda across multiple governments, from Obasanjo through Jonathan and Buhari to the current regime. The pastor described it as a “masterminded, well-planned” effort to impose Islamic law and gradually annex regions, particularly the Middle Belt.
“Nigeria Christians should wake up,” Andreaz warned. “Nigeria is mined already by these jihadists.” He likened the situation to phases of conquest disguised as banditry and kidnapping.
His comments come against a backdrop of continued attacks in Plateau, Benue, and other areas, where thousands have died in recent years. Critics on X have amplified the video, sparking heated discussions on religious dimensions of the conflict.
While some dismiss the claims as divisive, others cite patterns of targeted violence against Christian communities as evidence of deeper ideological motives. The pastor’s call for external intervention echoes growing frustration with domestic solutions.
Andreaz offered no pity for political excuses. He insisted the problem demands urgent, unflinching recognition of its true nature if Nigeria is to survive intact.
