Popular social media activist VeryDarkMan has sharply criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging him to step down over the worsening security situation in Nigeria.

He claims the president lacks solutions to the persistent threat of Boko Haram and other insurgencies.

The activist made the remarks following President Tinubu's recent comments on insecurity. During an interaction, when asked about the issue plaguing communities, the president spoke of sacrifice, obedience to law, and referenced religious teachings.

“That is the love, that is the obedience of law. Nowhere in the holy teaching that you should engage in banditry... The sacrifice we're talking about, even in the beginning of life where we take this from. A child was replaced with animal and that is what is value of life is all about,” Tinubu had said.

VeryDarkMan described the response as inadequate. “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu does not have the answers; he should step down before Boko Haram finishes us all,” he stated.

He highlighted how questions on lives lost and properties destroyed were met with references to sacrifice rather than concrete strategies.

Nigeria continues to grapple with attacks by Boko Haram insurgents. Recent incidents include the killing of Brigadier-General Oseni Omoh Braimah and several soldiers in Borno State.

President Tinubu condemned the assault, describing it as a sign of desperation by terrorists facing military pressure. He assured that their sacrifices would not be in vain and vowed to crush terrorism.

Despite such assurances, public frustration grows. Many Nigerians point to continued attacks on farming communities, schools, and villages, limiting food production and daily safety.

VeryDarkMan's comments resonated widely on social media. Several users echoed his concerns, questioning the government's approach while terrorists operate more openly in some areas.

Others noted ongoing military operations but stressed the need for better results on the ground. Critics argue economic hardships from reforms compound feelings of insecurity.

The presidency has repeatedly highlighted gains against insurgents. Officials point to degraded capabilities of Boko Haram and intensified operations with partners.

President Tinubu has mourned fallen soldiers and called for national prayers for an end to violence. He emphasized unity and resilience during festive periods like Eid-el-Kabir.

Yet, incidents persist. Analysts say the insurgency, though weakened territorially, has evolved into guerrilla tactics affecting more regions.

VeryDarkMan, known for bold commentary, has previously slammed the administration on various issues, including alleged failures to protect citizens. His latest outburst adds to growing calls for accountability.

As Nigeria battles multiple security challenges, from banditry in the northwest to separatist tensions elsewhere, the debate intensifies. Citizens await tangible improvements in safety and governance.

The activist's message underscores a broader sentiment. Many demand clearer strategies beyond appeals to sacrifice and faith.

Whether this criticism prompts policy shifts remains to be seen. For now, it amplifies voices calling for urgent, effective action against insecurity threatening national stability.
