Controversial activist VeryDarkMan has issued a strong challenge to the Nigerian government following the release of a distressing new video from kidnapped victims in Oyo State.

In the footage, victims including teachers and students from a school in the Ogbomoso area plead for urgent intervention amid harsh conditions in captivity.

VeryDarkMan, visibly moved, stated that if authorities fail to rescue or negotiate their release within four days, he will open a GoFundMe account to raise funds and directly engage the captors.

“My eyes are heavy, my heart weeps, especially for the kids,” he said. “I’m aware there might be an implication for this action; however, I am ready to pay the ultimate price.”

The kidnapping has drawn widespread attention, with victims recently shown enduring rain and sun while appealing to the government, NUT, and wealthy Nigerians for help. One teacher, Mrs. Alamu, urged dialogue over force to avoid further harm.

This development highlights Nigeria's persistent security challenges, where banditry and school abductions continue despite repeated government assurances. Critics argue that public crowdfunding for ransoms could embolden criminals, potentially turning citizen-led efforts into a dangerous precedent.

Supporters praise VDM's empathy, noting his past direct actions in rescue scenarios. However, others question the wisdom of negotiating with terrorists, warning it rewards violence and undermines state authority.

The activist's bold stance has sparked debate online, with some accusing him of indirectly encouraging kidnappers by signaling easy payments. No official government response has been detailed yet on this specific ultimatum.

As families await action, the case underscores deep frustrations over insecurity in the region.
