Nigerian actor and media personality Tobi Bakre has stirred conversations with his strong views on gender collaboration in the workplace.
In a recent episode of Mentality with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the Big Brother Naija alum emphasized the pivotal role women play in professional success.
"If you do not want to work with a woman, I don’t believe you are ready to grow in life. Women are so powerful," Bakre stated.
He added, "Thank God for women. In my industry particularly, I have worked with women and I’ve worked more with women."
Bakre, who rose to fame in BBNaija 2018 and built a career in Nollywood with films like *Gangs of Lagos*, explained his approach to work transcends gender.
"I don’t see gender. For me, work is work... Let’s get the work done," he said.
He noted that female directors and colleagues often embraced teamwork without ego, fostering creativity and balance.
The comments come as Bakre continues to thrive as a husband, father, and actor. He is married to Anu Oladosu, with whom he shares children.
However, the actor has faced past scrutiny over infidelity rumors that strained public perception of his personal life.
Social media reactions have been swift. While many praised his progressive stance, some users mocked the statement, with one suggesting he "needs to marry more women if so."
Others shared the clip widely, highlighting ongoing debates about gender dynamics in Nigeria's entertainment industry.
Bakre's words underscore a broader call for inclusivity. As he positions himself as an evolved voice in Nollywood, his message challenges traditional mindsets limiting growth through collaboration.
