Emmanuel Obasi, the former husband of Nollywood actress Judy Austin, has publicly alleged that his marriage to her ended amid an affair with actor Yul Edochie.
Obasi, who shares two children with Austin, made the claims in recent interviews and social media posts. He stated that Austin continued living under his roof while involved with Edochie.
“I’m the former husband to Judy Austin (Yul Edochie’s wife), we have 2 children together,” Obasi said. He described moments when they watched television together and Austin would lose focus upon seeing Edochie on screen.
“Anytime we were watching TV and Yul Edochie appears, Judy won’t concentrate anymore, she’ll be telling me to my face that she loves Yul and be praising him,” he recounted. Obasi added that he possesses evidence of their relationship developing during their marriage.
In emotional outbursts captured on video, Obasi has burst into tears while presenting old photographs from their marriage. The images reportedly show happy moments with Austin and their children. He has shared multiple throwback photos to counter narratives portraying him as a difficult spouse.
The real estate businessman lamented his lack of access to the children, now aged around 16 and 14. “I have not seen those children in 10 years,” he said, expressing deep distress over their upbringing.
“She told me she would frustrate me with those children because she knows I love them,” Obasi claimed. He described the situation as unbearable, disrupting his daily life and concentration.
Austin has consistently denied the allegations. In a 2023 video, she stated her previous marriage ended in March 2013, and she first saw Edochie years later. “That is the fattest lie ever told about me on social media,” she asserted, challenging critics with strong words.
The controversy resurfaced amid ongoing public interest in the Edochie family dynamics. Yul Edochie publicly introduced Austin as his second wife in April 2022, alongside their son. This development strained his first marriage to May Edochie, who later filed for divorce.
