Controversial entertainer Speed Darlington known for his wild social media antics and unfiltered rants has been officially declared wanted by NAPTIP (National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons).

The reason? A disturbing Instagram Live video where he admitted to having sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl, an act that’s not only criminal but has ignited fierce backlash across the country.
The Shocking Live Stream That Sparked It All
It all began like most of Speed Darlington’s videos: loud, chaotic, and attention-grabbing. But this one went too far.
In the now-viral Instagram Live session, Speed gleefully recounted an encounter with what he called a "15-year-old virgin." The comment wasn’t vague, it was shockingly specific and delivered with zero remorse. Within hours, the internet was ablaze. What many first assumed was a twisted joke turned into a national scandal.
NAPTIP Steps In Fast
The Lagos State Government didn’t waste time. Within 24 hours of the clip going viral, the matter was transferred to NAPTIP, the federal agency responsible for dealing with human trafficking, sexual exploitation, and offenses involving minors.
NAPTIP immediately issued a formal summons, ordering Speed Darlington to appear at their Abuja headquarters on May 30 for questioning.
But Darlington, true to his unpredictable persona, didn’t show up.
Instead, he claimed he had a “prior engagement” and requested to reschedule for June 26 nearly a full month later. NAPTIP wasn’t having it. They viewed the case as an urgent matter of national importance, and rejected the postponement.
Deadline Ignored, Wanted Poster Issued
When Darlington again failed to appear by the final deadline of June 2, NAPTIP escalated the matter. On June 27, they officially declared him wanted for alleged rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.
They also issued a public notice on their verified Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) pages, urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact them immediately via hotline or email.
The agency isn’t going soft, they’ve vowed to pursue arrest and prosecution.
His “Explanation”? It Was Just a Joke
In what might be his most tone-deaf move yet, Speed Darlington later took to Instagram to apologize but not quite in the way anyone hoped.
He claimed the whole thing was a "prank" meant to stir attention for his latest single, Village Girl. He even joked that next time he’d say the girl was 12 years old just to get more reactions.
His words:
“I was joking! It was publicity. If I really wanted buzz, I’d have said 12.”
The apology only fueled public outrage, with many accusing him of trivializing rape, encouraging abuse, and using shock tactics to chase clout.
What Happens Now?
NAPTIP has made it clear: Speed Darlington is now a fugitive. If caught, he faces possible charges under the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act 2015, and the Cybercrime Act of 2015. These are serious federal offenses with possible prison terms and fines.
The agency is also working with other law enforcement bodies to ensure he doesn’t flee the country or go into hiding.
For now, he remains active on social media, posting cryptic stories and doubling down on his “it was a joke” defense.
The Internet Reacts
As expected, social media is divided but heated.
Some call him a disgrace and are demanding swift arrest.
Others say it’s just Speed “being Speed” - famous for blurring the line between clownery and criminality.
But one thing is clear: this isn’t funny anymore.
With national agencies now involved, and the eyes of both the public and the law on him, Speed Darlington may have finally crossed the one line no amount of internet fame can protect him from.
