Nigerian rapper and activist Falz TheBahdGuy on Friday joined a protest in Lagos over escalating insecurity, particularly the abduction of students and teachers.
Demonstrators gathered at Ikeja Under Bridge, marching towards the Lagos State House of Assembly. The action forms part of a nationwide response to recent kidnappings in Oyo State's Oriire LGA, Ogbomoso area.
"What's going on in this country? Schools are still open while students are being kidn@pped. This must stop," Falz stated during the protest.
The artiste had earlier voiced frustration on Children's Day, noting over 40 victims remained missing from Oyo attacks. He criticised responses that he said effectively rewarded kidnappers with ransoms while citizens lived in fear.
Protesters, including teachers under the Nigeria Union of Teachers, carried placards calling for the safe return of abducted colleagues and pupils. Similar incidents were referenced in Borno and Kogi states.
Falz's participation highlights growing public outrage. The Take It Back Movement and other activists joined calls on authorities to strengthen security and rescue efforts.
Organisers described the demonstration as peaceful, urging sustained pressure until concrete actions address the vulnerability of schools and citizens. No immediate government response was detailed at the time of the march.
