The ongoing feud in the Edochie family has taken a new legal twist as May Yul-Edochie, estranged wife of popular actor Yul Edochie, has filed a lawsuit against Yinka Theisen, the United States–based former partner of Linc Edochie.
In a cease-and-desist letter dated August 19, 2025, and issued through her legal representatives, Graylaw Partners, May accused Theisen of cyberbullying, cyberstalking, and defamation. The letter demanded that Yinka immediately take down all alleged defamatory posts, issue a public apology across all social platforms, and pay ₦500 million in damages within 48 hours.
Failure to comply, the legal notice warned, would result in both civil and criminal proceedings being instituted against Theisen in Nigerian courts.
However, Yinka Theisen has refused to back down. Reacting via Instagram, she accused May of invading her privacy by publishing her personal address online. In a defiant message, she wrote: “You think you are the only one who can file a lawsuit? Be ready for a lifelong lawsuit.”
In a related development, reports indicate that May has also initiated a separate legal claim against her former lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, demanding ₦1 billion for alleged breach of trust and defamation, bringing her total legal demands to ₦1.5 billion.
The lawsuit has sparked heated debate across Nollywood circles and social media, with many fans and commentators closely monitoring the unfolding legal drama between May Edochie, Yinka Theisen, and other
parties.
