Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has threatened legal action against popular blogs over a misleading viral report concerning her recent revelation about her daughter’s father.
The 40-year-old actress made the announcement on her birthday, June 7. She shared that she welcomed a baby girl, referred to as Baby Sal, more than two years ago.
Ade described the journey as an answered prayer spanning nearly a decade. She posted maternity photos and a glimpse of the baby’s hand while stressing her choice of privacy.
“We chose privacy. Not because we owed anyone secrecy but because peace is priceless,” she stated in her Instagram post.
The actress, who has two sons from a previous relationship, emphasized that no home was broken in the making of her child. “God gave me mine. Fully. Peacefully. Intentionally. Not another woman’s man,” she added.
A post by Instablog9ja claimed: “My daughter’s father didn’t know I was pregnant until days to her naming ceremony.” This statement quickly went viral across social media platforms.
Ade accused the blog of merging two separate comments out of context to create a sensational narrative. She described the action as bullying and a violation of her privacy.
“For over 10 years, you have consistently tried your hardest to bully and ridicule me,” Ade said in her response. She noted having receipts and prior warnings issued.
The actress stated she is prepared to take the matter to court. She mentioned a previous successful lawsuit where she won ₦20 million over a false report.
She also called out other platforms like TolaniTalks for amplifying the story. “It’s not every post you see you hop and twerk on,” she warned.
Reactions on X (formerly Twitter) have been mixed. Some users congratulated her on the new addition while others debated the secrecy and speculated on family dynamics.
Several posts highlighted her history of protecting her personal life. Supporters praised her for setting boundaries in an industry known for oversharing.
The blog reportedly took down the controversial post, but Ade confirmed she saved evidence. She demanded accountability and royalties for the use of her name and image.
This development comes amid growing discussions on celebrity privacy and media responsibility. Ade has maintained a firm stance on not engaging in public scandals.
As of now, no court filings have been confirmed. The incident continues to generate conversations online about responsible reporting.
