A Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, has reserved its ruling on the bail application of social media influencer Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) revealed the development on Friday, June 5, 2026. Justice D.I. Dipeolu adjourned the decision to June 9.
Blessing CEO stands trial on a two-count charge of obtaining money by false pretence and stealing. The EFCC alleges she collected N36 million from Mrs. Ifeyinwa Nonye Okoye between July 14 and 17, 2024.
Prosecutors claim the funds were for leasing a six-bedroom duplex in Lekki, Lagos, a representation they say was false.
She pleaded not guilty when arraigned on May 15. Her counsel noted that N24 million had been refunded, seeking time for the balance.
The court rejected any private settlement, treating the matter as a criminal case. She has remained in EFCC custody since arraignment.
This latest development adds to Blessing CEO’s string of controversies. Earlier in 2026, she faced backlash over claims of Stage 4 breast cancer. Critics, including a cancer survivor, accused her of forging medical reports to solicit donations.
She later apologized and offered refunds, but public trust eroded further. Her bold relationship advice had already drawn scrutiny, with past claims like owning a luxury mansion also questioned.
Social media reactions to the fraud case remain divided. Many express disappointment in the self-styled therapist’s alleged actions, viewing it as another instance of exploiting public confidence.
As the trial proceeds, the case highlights ongoing concerns about accountability for influencers. Observers await the bail ruling and full proceedings with keen interest.
