In a heated online showdown that's got Nigerians talking, entrepreneur Blord (Linus Williams) and activist VeryDarkMan (Martins Vincent Otse) locked horns over electric bike pricing, sparking a dramatic drop that could save buyers hundreds of thousands.
It started when Blord unveiled his electric bike at ₦1.3 million, touting features like a keyless system and a solid 70–80 km range on a full charge. The post quickly drew fire from VeryDarkMan, the vocal critic famous for calling out inflated prices. He fired back, declaring he could deliver superior models hitting 30–35 km/h speeds with 45–50 km range for just ₦700,000 total: ₦500,000 for the bike plus ₦200,000 shipping from China. VDM even claimed better specs and two variants, framing it as a blow against overpricing amid Nigeria's soaring fuel costs and endless traffic.
The pressure worked fast. Blord responded by slashing his own rates: ₦700,000 for pre-orders or ₦980,000 for immediate pickup from his stock of over 100 units, complete with a 6-month warranty. Social media buzzed with clips and reactions, many praising the clash for putting affordable, fuel-free rides within reach.
The feud isn't new, tensions have simmered over business moves, billboards, and past accusations, but this round turned the spotlight on everyday consumers. While some accuse VDM of undercutting without full context (like battery costs and logistics), others credit him for forcing transparency.
For now, Lagos streets might soon see more electric bikes zipping through traffic jams, thanks to one public spat that ended up benefiting buyers.
