Nollywood has once again been thrown into mourning following the death of fast-rising Yoruba actor, Seun Confirm, who reportedly passed away after battling High Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH).
The tragic news was confirmed on social media by veteran actress Jayeola Monje, who expressed her deep grief and disbelief over the loss of the young talent. Taking to her Instagram page, the actress shared a touching tribute alongside a photo of Seun, describing him as a promising star whose sudden exit has left a void in the hearts of many.
"Your death pains me, Seun. I’m still in shock. May God grant you eternal rest," she wrote, adding crying emojis to convey her sorrow.
According to reports, Seun had been battling complications related to High BPH, a condition that causes the prostate gland to enlarge significantly, leading to severe urinary and other health issues. Though typically common in older men, in rare cases it can present aggressively in younger individuals, especially if left untreated. Close associates revealed that Seun had been in and out of hospital in recent months, but his condition deteriorated rapidly before his passing.
Fans, colleagues, and industry friends have flooded social media with condolence messages, remembering Seun for his cheerful personality, dedication to his craft, and his dreams of making a lasting mark in Nollywood. Many described him as humble, hardworking, and passionate, often taking on challenging roles in Yoruba movies that showcased his versatility.
Jayeola Monje, known for mentoring and supporting younger actors, noted that Seun’s determination to succeed in the industry was admirable. She recalled their last conversation, where he spoke about upcoming projects and his hopes for the future.
"It’s so hard to believe you’re gone when you still had so much ahead of you," she lamented.
Seun Confirm had gradually built a following through his roles in several Yoruba productions, earning recognition for his natural delivery and on-screen charisma. His death is yet another reminder of the health challenges faced by entertainers, with many fans calling for increased awareness of prostate-related illnesses, even among younger men.
As tributes continue to pour in, funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by his family in the coming days. His untimely demise has left colleagues in deep sorrow and serves as a poignant reminder of life’s fragility.
May Seun Confirm’s soul rest in perfect peace.
