Nigerian singer Ycee has stirred discussions after criticising the All Progressives Congress (APC) during a recent livestream with popular content creator Carter Efe.
The artist described the party’s performance as poor, extending his remarks to both the current and previous administrations.
“First of all fvck the APC, they’ve done a very terrible job, this administration and the previous administration,” Ycee stated on the stream.
He urged citizens to participate actively in the electoral process. “Our only choice is to exercise our civil rights and be a part of the electoral process and vote next year,” the singer added.
Ycee expressed concern over ongoing national issues. He pointed to the kidnapping of school children and attacks on education as particularly troubling.
“It’s sad how in 2026 children are being kidnapped & education is being targeted. If children are not educated how can we have leaders of tomorrow,” he noted.
The comments came during an engaging session where Ycee discussed various topics, including his career and industry experiences. Carter Efe’s livestreams often attract celebrities and generate wide online reactions.
Ycee also touched on his reluctance to collaborate with certain artists due to their political affiliations. He mentioned changing his perception after observing ties to APC members.
Social media users quickly amplified the clip. Reactions ranged from support for Ycee’s candidness to debates on the role of celebrities in political discourse.
Some praised the singer for speaking out on issues affecting ordinary citizens. Others viewed his statements as part of growing discontent ahead of future polls.
Ycee’s remarks reflect sentiments shared by segments of the public. Nigeria faces persistent security threats, including abductions in schools, which have drawn widespread condemnation.
Ycee maintained a balanced tone overall. While critical of past and present governance, he focused on civic responsibility rather than endorsing any specific alternative.
Ycee’s intervention adds his voice to calls for better governance and citizen participation.
