Seun Kuti has never been one to shy away from controversy.
In a viral video that's blowing up across social media, the outspoken Afrobeat singer revealed a shocking personal truth.
"I've never prayed before in my life," he declared. "I don’t know how to pray. I don’t believe it works. Praying is childish. It doesn’t work."
The clip, which exploded on December 24, 2025, stems from his scathing critique of faith healing.
Seun recounted a heartbreaking story of a wealthy Nigerian family who flew a terminal cancer patient back home after doctors abroad gave up hope.
Desperate, they turned to Pastor Enoch Adeboye at the RCCG Redemption Camp, spending a staggering $250,000 on accommodations and prayers.
Adeboye allegedly assured healing and even resurrection.
Yet, the woman died at the camp.
The family knelt beside her body while the pastor prayed privately for an hour – only for him to later say it was "God's will."
Seun slammed this as "childish belief in miracles," arguing real change comes from action, not rituals.
"Your life is your prayer," he insisted. "I solve my problems, not pray over them."
Known for his atheism and sharp takes on religion, Seun's words hit hard amid Nigeria's economic woes, where many cling to faith.
Reactions are split: some hail his call for self-reliance, others defend prayer as a lifeline.
One thing's clear – Seun Kuti just stirred the pot again, and the debate is far from over.
