Nigerian content creator Jubril Oladapo Gbadamosi, known as Officer Woos, has denied viral claims that he announced the death of his colleague Broda Shaggi.
The rumor surfaced days ago on X. User @Ghost91ne posted that Officer Woos shared news of Broda Shaggi’s passing on Instagram.
Officer Woos responded swiftly. He shared a screenshot of the false claim on his Instagram story with a simple caption: “false.”
His legal team at Versed Attorneys issued a formal statement. They described the allegations as “entirely false, fabricated, and without any basis whatsoever.”
The lawyers stressed that their client has never announced the death of any colleague, friend, or associate on social media. They called it a deliberate attempt to tarnish his reputation.
Legal action is threatened against those spreading the misinformation. The statement demands immediate retraction and a public apology within 48 hours.
Broda Shaggi, whose real name is Samuel Perry, was reportedly shot in the leg in March 2026 while filming a skit near Sango-Ota in Ogun State. He was hospitalized but no official confirmation of death exists.
Police in Ogun State denied knowledge of the shooting at the time. They also refuted reports of arrests linked to the incident.
Public reactions on X reflect frustration over recurring false rumors in the comedy industry. Many users urged fans to stop spreading unverified claims and focus on support for the skit makers.
This incident follows separate drug trafficking allegations against Officer Woos. He similarly denied those claims and threatened lawsuits.
Officer Woos and Broda Shaggi are longtime collaborators. Their joint skits have entertained audiences for years with humor and relatable content.
The entertainment community continues to grapple with misinformation. Fans expressed relief that Broda Shaggi remains alive and called for positive focus on recovery and new projects.
Industry observers note the need for caution with social media reports. Verified sources remain essential amid rapid spread of unconfirmed stories.
