Veteran Nollywood actor Laide Olabanji has sparked fresh controversy with a fiery video message. He directed strong curses at Nigerians wishing for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to retain power.

"Nigerians are crying. Nigeria is bleeding. Our innocent kids are still in the custody of bandits in the forest. Their parents are in pain. Lives lost every day," the actor stated in the clip. He warned that those supporting the return of such leaders "may you never have peace in your life."

Olabanji, known for his roles in Yoruba films and as CEO of LAIBAN Films International, has grown increasingly vocal against the current administration. He blames it for rising insecurity, particularly in Oyo and Kwara states.

The actor accused some Nollywood colleagues of staying silent on killings and kidnappings in exchange for political favours. He claimed Nigerians, not the government, built their careers, urging them to speak truth to power.

Recent incidents, including beheadings and bandit activities, appear to have fuelled his outburst. Parents continue to grieve children held in forests, while daily deaths add to national pain.

Reactions on X (formerly Twitter) show divided opinions. Supporters hail Olabanji for his boldness, with some praying for divine punishment on APC backers. Others question his consistency or dismiss the curses as mere drama.

This is not the first time the actor has targeted APC loyalists. He previously mocked entertainers collecting payments to campaign, calling it a betrayal of the masses.

Olabanji's latest video, shared widely on YouTube and social platforms, taps into widespread frustration over economic hardship and security failures under President Bola Tinubu's government.

While his strong language has won praise from critics of the administration, it risks deepening rifts within the entertainment industry. Many actors remain cautious about public political commentary.

The development highlights ongoing tensions as political conversations heat up ahead of future elections. Nigerians grapple with daily realities of loss and uncertainty.
