Nollywood actress Iheme Nancy has stirred controversy with a blunt social media post distancing herself from family and friends supporting President Bola Tinubu for a second term.
In the Instagram statement shared widely on May 29, 2026, the actress declared she no longer wants to associate with such individuals.
"If you are supporting Tinubu for second term, whether you are family or friend, I do not want to associate with you again because your IQ is at negative digits and supporting evil in broad daylight," she wrote.
"Avoid me please. You are a dangerous being," Nancy added.
She cited ongoing national challenges as the reason for her stance. "I'm suffering, our parents are suffering, Nigeria is falling apart, people are dying, the economy has collapsed," the post continued. "I don't want to see or hear anyone supporting this present administration. God will judge you."
The message, posted alongside photos of the actress, quickly spread across platforms, drawing mixed reactions online.
Nancy, known for her roles in films like Alobam and Nkoli Nwa Nsukka, has a history of sparking public debates. Past controversies include rejecting a 40-year-old suitor for allegedly not being able to afford her and allegations of involvement in a broken marriage.
Critics on social media have questioned the actress's approach, arguing it undermines democratic choice and personal relationships over politics. Others praised her for voicing frustrations shared by many amid inflation and economic pressures since 2023.
The post reflects deepening political divisions in Nigeria ahead of future elections, with celebrities increasingly taking public stands on governance issues. Nancy's strong words highlight the personal toll of national hardships on public figures.
