The lights were dim, the crowd restless, and the clock had long past 11 PM in Paris when Kizz Daniel finally stepped off the van. What should have been a night of Afrobeats magic turned into one of the most chaotic scenes in Nigerian music’s European tour history.

It was November 10, 2025. Fans had filled the venue since 7 PM, phones in hand, voices hoarse from chanting “Buga.” They had paid premium prices to see the man behind the hits. But by 11:50 PM, hope had turned to anger.

Videos now flooding X show the moment everything boiled over. A group of frustrated attendees confronted organizers outside the hall. Words flew. Hands pushed. One man, believed to be Kizz Daniel’s bodyguard, jumped in to separate the crowd. Phones captured every second, shouts in French, English, and Pidgin echoing into the cold Paris night.

Inside, the story was even messier.

Promoters claim they paid over ₦140 million for the show. Yet, the singer was nowhere to be found for nearly five hours. Some fans demanded refunds. Others just wanted answers. One woman was seen crying near the bar, saying she flew in from London just for this.

Kizz Daniel didn’t stay silent.

By morning, November 11, he took to Instagram with a detailed “SHALAYE.” He said he was ready since 6 AM. His flight was booked for 12:25 PM. But a dispute between his tour agent, @olamidebaron, and the local promoter held everything up. The agent allegedly resold the show without settling full payment, leaving Kizz stranded.

“I no dey form big man,” he wrote. “I use cab throughout this Europe tour. No Escalade, no wahala. Na money matter delay us.”

He even shared plans to post the breach of contract notice as proof.

But the damage was done.

Promoters are now threatening legal action, calling it part of a “pattern” of no-shows. They point to past incidents, Italy where he performed at 4 AM, Sweden where the set ended at 1:30 AM due to venue curfew. Fans waited. He showed up. But trust? That’s wearing thin.

One attendee told a friend in a viral voice note: “We no even vex say he late. We vex say nobody tell us anything. Five hours inside cold, no water, no update.”

Meanwhile, Kizz’s brother was seen in another clip explaining calmly to fans outside: “He’s here now. The flight just landed. Please make una understand.”

Some did. Many didn’t.

The Paris fiasco comes just weeks before Kizz Daniel’s big homecoming show at Eko Hotel on December 27. Tickets are already moving. But will this scandal hurt sales? Or will fans forgive, as they often do, for the love of the music?

We all know in the age of live videos and instant outrage, no celebrity delay goes unpunished.

As one X user wrote: “₦140 million to perform for 30 minutes? Even Jesus no try that one.”

The drama may have happened in Paris, but Nigeria woke up to it, and the internet hasn’t stopped talking.

Kizz Daniel says he’s ready for Amsterdam and Cologne. Fans say they’re ready too, but this time, they want him on time.

Will he deliver? The clock is ticking.
