In a case that's gripped Ghana and gone viral worldwide, self-proclaimed prophet Evans Eshun, better known as Ebo Noah, now stands accused of spreading panic through a bold and ultimately false prediction.

Starting last August, Eshun posted videos across TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook claiming God revealed a catastrophic global flood, echoing the biblical Noah's story. He said it would begin on December 25, 2025, submerging the world for three years. To save believers and animals, he announced plans to build 10 modern "arks" and urged followers to contribute or join.

The prophecy sparked real alarm: some followers reportedly sold possessions, quit jobs, or traveled from neighboring countries like Liberia to secure spots. When Christmas passed without a drop of apocalyptic rain, Eshun backtracked in new videos. He claimed his intense prayers, fasting, and intercession convinced God to postpone the disaster not cancel it.

Police acted swiftly. The Special Cyber Vetting Team arrested him on December 31, 2025, in Weija-Gbawe while he was live-streaming. Charged with publishing false news, false communication, deliberately misleading the public, and causing fear and panic, he first appeared at Accra's Adenta Circuit Court around January 1-2, 2026.

Bail was denied initially; the court remanded him for two weeks and ordered a psychiatric evaluation at Pantang Hospital to assess his mental fitness. On January 15, 2026, in his second hearing, arriving with his face partially covered and escorted by officers, he was granted GH¢100,000 bail with two sureties (one justified by landed property). The case now heads to March for further disclosure.

Adding intrigue, Eshun's lawyer dismissed a viral video of a woman claiming to be his pleading mother as an imposter, his real mother, he said, knew nothing about it.

The saga has fueled heated online debates: praise for Ghana's firm stance against misinformation, questions about follower gullibility, and warnings on social media prophets. As hearings continue, many wonder if this marks the end of Ebo Noah's dramatic chapter or just a pause.
