Nigerian street-pop star Zinoleesky sent shockwaves through the music industry on Saturday, November 22, 2025 – exactly two years after the tragic death of his former labelmate Mohbad.
In a now-deleted Instagram story, the "Party No Dey Stop" hitmaker wrote: "I am standing up not just for myself but for every artist who has ever felt powerless or taken advantage of. We deserve better. We deserve transparency, fairness, and respect."

Though he never mentioned Naira Marley or Marlian Music by name, fans immediately connected the dots.
Many noticed Zinoleesky quietly updated his Instagram bio, scrubbing all references to the controversial label that once launched his career.
The timing couldn't be more loaded. Mohbad, who left Marlian Records in bitter circumstances, had publicly accused the label of bullying, unpaid royalties, and worse before his mysterious death in September 2023.
Back then, Zinoleesky stayed silent while protests raged and Mohbad even called him out in videos. Now, some fans are whispering "karma" or "better late than never."
Social media exploded within hours. One user wrote, "Table don turn! You forgot Mohbad but we didn’t." Another said, "He never see anything yet, enjoy your shege in peace."
Others expressed concern: "Saw him months ago with Sam Larry... he didn’t look well at all."
As of now, neither Zinoleesky nor Marlian Music has released an official statement.
But the deleted post and bio wipe speak volumes – another crack in the once-dominant Marlian empire.
Fans are left asking: Is this finally Zinoleesky breaking free, or just another cryptic moment that fades away?
One thing is clear – the ghosts of Mohbad's cries for justice are still haunting the label, and this time, even the loyal ones seem ready to speak.
