Nigerian music video director TG Omori has hit back at influencer Dami Foreign after the latter mocked his ongoing kidney health challenges.
The clash unfolded on X when Omori posted about resilience, declaring he had "a thousand lives in me to live." Dami Foreign quote-tweeted the message with the cutting remark: "With another person’s kidney?"
Omori, who underwent a kidney transplant donated by his brother in 2024 that later faced complications, did not let the jab slide. He responded with a pointed message urging empathy.
"Life is deeper than using someone’s near death pain to mock them," Omori wrote. He advised the troll to "hold on tight to whatever you believe in" and ended with a prayer for divine guidance.
Dami Foreign later deleted the original tweet and issued an apology. "I never read meaning to it until now. I just wanted to catch cruise," he stated, adding he wished no harm.
The incident has sparked divided reactions online. Some users condemned the mockery, noting the severe toll of kidney failure. Others defended dark humor on the platform.
Omori's health journey has been public and gruelling. He has spoken openly about multiple surgeries, financial strain, and recovery setbacks since the transplant.
This is not Omori's first brush with controversy. He has previously engaged in public spats, including with singer Portable over video production fees. Critics sometimes accuse him of harsh online tones himself.
The exchange underscores the thin line between banter and insensitivity on social media, especially regarding serious health matters. Many called for greater compassion toward those battling chronic illnesses.
As Omori continues creating and sharing his story, the episode serves as a reminder of life's fragility and the weight of words in digital spaces.
