Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has paid a special visit to the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) headquarters on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State, where she presented her Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) medal to the church’s General Overseer, Pastor Daniel Olukoya, and his wife.

The emotional visit, which took place on Saturday, was Ajibade’s way of showing appreciation for the spiritual support she says has helped her career flourish. Dressed in a simple outfit and beaming with pride, the Nigerian football star walked into the MFM auditorium to loud cheers from members of the congregation.

Ajibade, who plays for Atlético de Madrid Femenino in Spain, was a key player for the Nigerian national women’s team in their recent WAFCON campaign. Although the Super Falcons did not lift the trophy, Ajibade’s leadership and performance earned her widespread praise, and her gesture at MFM symbolized her gratitude to God and her spiritual mentors.

While presenting the medal, she thanked Pastor Olukoya and his wife for their continuous prayers, encouragement, and spiritual guidance, saying, “This medal is not just mine ,it belongs to everyone who has stood by me in prayer, especially my spiritual parents, Pastor and Mummy Olukoya. I came to return the glory to God.”

The church members erupted in joy, many visibly moved by the moment. Pastor Olukoya, known for his commitment to youth empowerment through sports, especially football, praised Ajibade for her humility and dedication. He also prayed for greater exploits in her career, calling her a true ambassador of Christ and an inspiration to young people.

The visit has since sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians applauding Ajibade for acknowledging her spiritual roots and staying grounded in faith despite her international success.

Ajibade’s gesture adds to a growing trend of Nigerian athletes and entertainers openly honoring their faith and religious leaders, using their platforms to inspire others both on and off the field.

The Super Falcons are currently preparing for upcoming qualifiers and international friendlies, and fans are hopeful the team will build on recent momentum. Meanwhile, Ajibade’s leadership continues to shine as she balances her commitments to club and country all while keeping her faith at the center of it all.
