In a recent report on Arise TV, Nigerian Fuji music icon Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has publicly apologized following a controversial incident at a Nigerian airport that drew widespread attention on social media and in the press.
The singer, who initially faced backlash for his actions during the episode, addressed the issue in a recent statement. He tendered apologies to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo, and his fans, acknowledging his missteps and taking full responsibility. "He has apologized to the president, to the minister of aviation Festus Keyamo, to his fans, and he's taking responsibility for his actions."
Clarifying the nature of the item that sparked public outrage a bottle believed by some to contain alcohol the singer explained that it held only water. He said the water was recommended by his doctors to help him stay hydrated during his travels. "He's saying that what he had in the bottle was not what people were thinking that he had water there because his doctors advised him to, you know, dehydrate."
Addressing the apology itself, Baba Yusuf the analyst remarked that while it was a step in the right direction, it came later than it should have.
