The highly anticipated TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 is set to kick off on December 21, 2025, in Morocco, with the final scheduled for January 18, 2026. As preparations intensify across the continent, Nigeria’s Super Eagles have made a key change to their pre-tournament plans.
The team has relocated its training camp from Egypt to Morocco, allowing the players to adapt to local conditions ahead of their first group stage match on December 23. The camp is expected to open around December 13 or 14, giving the squad just over a week to fine-tune strategies and build team chemistry.
Nigeria will compete in Group C, with eyes firmly set on advancing to the knockout stages. Under the tournament format, the top two teams in each group, along with the four best third-placed teams, will move on to the next round—making every match critical.
Meanwhile, preparations in host nation Morocco are in full gear. Stadiums, facilities, and logistics are being finalized to welcome Africa’s top footballing nations. The third phase of ticket sales began on November 15, with fans eager to witness the continent’s premier football event live.
