The Nigerian film industry came together in grief and love as Nollywood stars, colleagues, and loved ones gathered for the service of songs held in honor of late actress Allwell Ademola, who passed away in December 2025 at the age of 43.
Among the many moving moments of the evening were the emotional tributes from fellow actors Rotimi Salami and Biola Bayo, who both struggled to hold back tears as they spoke about their personal connections with the late actress.
Rotimi Salami, overwhelmed with emotion, shared how Allwell had been a strong support system for him during some of his most challenging moments in the industry. He described her as “a light” and pleaded with attendees to forgive any wrongs she may have committed, saying, “Nobody is perfect. Allwell was human too, but she loved deeply.”
Biola Bayo, also tearful, recalled her last conversation with Allwell and how full of life she was. She praised her kindness, humility, and positive energy, calling her "a sister in every sense."
The service, held in Lagos, drew a large crowd of Nollywood personalities including Faithia Williams, Femi Adebayo, Iyabo Ojo, and others. A candlelight procession followed the tributes, with mourners holding candles and photos of the actress, paying their respects in a touching display of unity and remembrance.
Allwell Ademola, known for her vibrant roles in both English and Yoruba films, was celebrated not just for her talent but for her warmth and contribution to the entertainment industry. Her passing leaves a void that was deeply felt by all in attendance.
The tributes from Salami and Bayo stood out as heartfelt reflections of a life that touched many — a reminder that Allwell's legacy lives on through the love and memories she left behind.
