Nigeria's Minister of Works, David Umahi, has reignited his feud with outspoken Arise TV anchor Rufai Oseni, delivering a pointed rebuke that has social media buzzing.
In a recent briefing on federal road projects, the former Ebonyi governor and civil engineer didn't hold back.
He accused Oseni of blindly refusing to acknowledge government achievements.
"Rufai doesn’t see anything good in our government," Umahi said.
"The more you refuse to see the good, the cheaper you make yourself."
Then came the memorable analogy: "2+2=4, yet you insist it’s 3, shouting, flexing muscles, and wasting energy countering a professor of infrastructure."
Umahi, who often calls himself a "professor" based on experience, was clearly referencing their explosive October 7 clash on Arise TV.
That live interview over the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway costs turned ugly fast.
Oseni pressed for transparency, accusing Umahi of reporting him to President Tinubu.
Umahi fired back, calling Oseni "too small" and mocking his "high level of ignorance."
He repeatedly told the anchor to "keep quiet."
The viral spat divided Nigerians—some hailed Umahi's candor, others slammed his arrogance.
Fast forward to December 2025, and Umahi is still shading Oseni without naming him directly in some clips.
He welcomed constructive criticism but urged detractors to "reconcile" with obvious progress.
Views remain split.
Supporters praise Umahi for defending massive road works amid economic challenges.
Critics see insecurity, whispering that Oseni lives rent-free in his head.
One thing's clear: this rivalry isn't cooling off anytime soon.
As infrastructure debates heat up, expect more fireworks between the minister and the fearless journalist.
