She left her afternoon shift and boarded a vehicle home but did not reach her destination. Her body was later discovered dumped, and authorities have yet to release detailed information on the circumstances surrounding her death.
In response, the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), FCT Council, condemned the killing and called for an immediate, thorough, and transparent investigation by the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The association urged that the perpetrators be identified and brought to justice without delay.
NANNM also called for increased security around hospitals and major transport points used by healthcare workers, and recommended organized transportation for nurses to prevent similar incidents.
The council extended condolences to the family of the deceased, the management of FMC Abuja, and nurses across the FCT and Nigeria.
