Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner Phyna has reignited debate by insisting that organizers MultiChoice Nigeria have yet to deliver her full ?100 million prize package from her 2022 victory.
The reality star, whose real name is Ijeoma Josephine Otabor, recently shared an emotional video where she addressed lingering doubts from fans. “When I came online, people didn’t believe me. BBNaija still hasn’t given me the ?100 million I won,” she stated, highlighting how initial skepticism turned into ongoing frustration.
Phyna received the ?50 million cash cheque shortly after her October 2, 2022 win, along with some sponsor perks like an Innoson SUV. However, she maintains that key elements, particularly the 1 Bitcoin from sponsor Quidax Global remain outstanding. That Bitcoin, valued at roughly ?22 million back then, has surged dramatically, fueling her repeated calls for settlement.
The controversy first gained traction in 2024, when Phyna vented publicly about delays, even shedding tears in live sessions and alleging threats or dismissal from the organizers. MultiChoice has consistently maintained that all obligations were met, with some prizes managed directly by sponsors.
Recent clips circulating on social media show Phyna revisiting the issue, sparking divided reactions. Supporters urge her to pursue legal action, while critics question her persistence or suggest post-show behavior may have played a role. Whispers persist about similar prize disputes among other winners, though few have been as vocal.
As the saga drags on into 2026, Phyna's claims continue to draw attention to transparency in reality TV rewards, leaving fans wondering if full resolution is on the horizon.
