The Nigerian streaming streets are on fire again.
On Tuesday night, December 10, 2025, during a casual live session, TikTok king Peller dropped a bombshell that has the whole community picking sides.
“If Shank had introduced us to Kai Cenat and Ray when he was in America,” Peller said, laughing but clearly serious, “all these things we’re running around for now wouldn’t be happening. Shank would have been the Olamide of streaming if he had put us on then.”
The “us” means himself and Carter Efe, both of whom eventually linked up with Kai and Ray on their own months later.
Within hours, the clip blew up. Thousands of fans reminded Peller that Shank actually did shout out Nigerian creators, including Peller and Carter live on Kai Cenat’s stream during the May 2025 Streamer University bootcamp in Ohio.
Old footage resurfaced showing Shank telling the entire American room: “Check out Peller, Carter Efe, these guys are crazy talented.” Yet only Shank and Enzo got the golden tickets to attend.
The irony isn’t lost on anyone. Carter Efe, who once complained that Shank never linked him, is now arguably bigger than both Peller and Shank after his independent U.S. run.
Some fans call Peller ungrateful. Others say he’s just keeping it real. Shank had the direct line and could’ve pushed harder.
As of Wednesday morning, Shank is yet to respond. Carter Efe is quiet too. But the comment sections are louder than ever.
One thing is clear: in Nigeria’s young streaming scene, everyone wants to be the one who opens the door for the next man, but nobody wants to feel the door was slammed in their face.
