On November 13, 2025, Nigeria’s tech golden boy turned villain overnight.

Ezra Olubi, the colorful co-founder of Paystack, woke up to a digital storm. What began as a cryptic post from an ex-partner spiraled into a full-blown scandal that left the internet reeling.

The trigger? A flood of old tweets from 2009 to 2013.

Screenshots spread like wildfire across X, revealing disturbing jokes about underage girls, bestiality, and workplace misconduct. One tweet allegedly mocked child rape. Another bragged about hidden cameras in his toilet.

By midday, Olubi’s account (@0x) vanished.

The silence only fueled the fire. Users archived the posts on GitHub, ensuring the evidence wouldn’t disappear. Hashtags like “Ezra Olubi” and “Ezra God” trended for hours.

But the accusations went beyond tweets.

His ex, known online as Maki or Maxispoke, claimed he proposed marriage months earlier, only to turn “horrible” after rejection. She accused him of targeting her wife and deceiving partners about his health.

Whispers of HIV and Hepatitis B surfaced.

Former partners were urged to get tested. One user wrote, “He told women he had low sperm count to skip protection. Pure evil.”

At Paystack, where he once served as CTO, employees allegedly faced unwanted advances. “He used his power,” one anonymous post claimed. “Subordinates weren’t safe.”

Olubi’s public image made the fall harder.

The dreadlocked, nail-painted entrepreneur had long branded himself a queer feminist ally. He attended investor meetings in lipstick and heels. He received the Order of the Niger (OON) for tech innovation.

Now, that image lies in tatters.

Critics called it a mask. “He faked queerness to access women,” one viral thread alleged. His polyamorous relationships, once celebrated were reframed as manipulation.

Even his inner circle faced heat.

Feminist activists like @ozzyetomi and @kikimordi, once vocal against abuse, stayed silent. “Where’s the energy now?” one user asked. “This is your friend.”

A Change.org petition launched within hours.

Titled “Revoke Ezra Olubi’s OON Award,” it accused him of being a “revealed pedophile, zoophile, and sexual deviant.” Thousands signed by evening.

Paystack, acquired by Stripe for over $200 million in 2020, remained mum.

Co-founder Shola Akinlade, known for staying low-key, became the contrast. “One built quietly. The other performed,” a user noted.

Olubi’s net worth, estimated at ₦150 billion didn’t shield him.

Money can’t delete the past.

As night fell on November 13, the question lingered: will authorities act? Will former partners speak? Will Paystack address the workplace claims?

One thing was clear.

Ezra Olubi’s birthday gift on November 12 was celebration. By the 13th, it was cancellation.

And Nigeria’s tech community will never look at him, or itself the same way again.
