Veteran Nollywood actress and evangelist Eucharia Anunobi has firmly denied explosive allegations from Apostle Psalm Okpe, founder of Fresh Oil Ministry International Church, insisting no romantic or intimate relationship ever existed between them.
The controversy ignited from a leaked audio recording that surfaced earlier this month. In the conversation with another pastor, Okpe allegedly boasted of dating Anunobi for five years and six months, including explicit details of carnal relations, claims that quickly went viral on social media.
Anunobi, who was ordained by Okpe in 2012, addressed the matter in emotional Instagram videos posted late Sunday and widely shared on January 19, 2026. She described the accusations as "false, defamatory, malicious, and wicked," labeling Okpe a "pathological liar" and "hallucinating monster." She emphasized their connection was "purely financial and faith-based," supported by her donations to his ministry, with bank records as proof.
The 60-year-old star highlighted her personal commitment, stating she has remained celibate for nearly 14 years. "I am ready to be taken for medical examination to ascertain if I have been having sex in almost 14 years," she declared, challenging the cleric to prove his words in court.
Expressing deep concern for her safety, Anunobi warned: "If anything happens to me, my material possessions, or my family members here in Nigeria or abroad, including physical injury, harm, or death - Apostle Psalm Okpe and his entire family should be held responsible." She linked the claims to long-standing threats against her ministry.
Following public backlash, Okpe issued an apology, calling his words "careless" and based on hearsay, though Anunobi remains unmoved. She has filed a petition and initiated legal proceedings against him, determined to clear her name.
The incident has sparked fresh debate about accountability in religious circles, with many questioning the integrity of such explosive private conversations. As the story unfolds, Anunobi stands resolute in defending her reputation and faith.
