Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has shocked fans with a heartbreaking update on the 2019 attack that nearly claimed her life. In an emotional Instagram post on July 15, 2025, the actress revealed that bullet fragments are still lodged in her skull six years after she survived the brutal ambush.

Angela shared a video of her recent hospital visits, including medical scans and treatments. She said she’s been unwell for weeks, experiencing severe headaches, blurry vision, and fatigue. According to her doctors, tiny pieces of bullets remain in her head from the 2019 shooting and continue to cause her serious health issues. “This is my reality. Bullet fragments are still inside my head,” she wrote, clearly emotional.
The incident happened in December 2019 after a performance. Angela said she was attacked by unknown gunmen who sprayed her car with bullets for over 30 minutes. “They kept on shooting, and nobody came to help. Only God did,” she recalled. Ten bullets reportedly hit her head, and she was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Pictures of her with a swollen face and bandaged head circulated on social media at the time, causing national outrage.
Despite years of treatment, Angela says her recovery is far from complete. In her latest post, she revealed that some fragments have surfaced over the years, but others are still deeply embedded in her skull. She continues to battle frequent pain and vision problems, and her recent health scare forced her to go on bed rest. Fans and celebrities have since flooded her social media with prayers and encouragement, calling her a strong survivor.

Angela’s story has never been just about the bullets - it’s about the emotional scars, the unanswered questions, and the quiet war she’s been fighting since 2019. This isn’t the first time she has revisited the tragedy. In 2021, she shared that fragments were still being found in her head, leaving fans stunned that the trauma hadn’t ended.
The actress didn’t only speak about the physical damage. She also hinted at betrayal and behind-the-scenes tension, suggesting that people close to her may have been involved in the attack. “Some of the same people pretending to care today are the ones who wanted me dead. I haven’t forgotten. I will never forgive,” she said in a post that has sparked debate and speculation online.
Many believed Angela had fully recovered due to her continued presence on social media and in Nollywood. But her recent revelations show that her pain has been private, ongoing, and sometimes unbearable. The actress emphasized that her survival is purely by God’s mercy. “It is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that showeth mercy,” she said, quoting scripture to express gratitude for life.
Now on medical rest, Angela is undergoing new evaluations to determine if it's possible to remove the remaining fragments. Whether that happens or not, she remains a symbol of resilience - a woman who lived through what most wouldn’t, and who continues to speak her truth, no matter how painful.
